Frequently Asked Question on Router IP :
Can we change the router IP address?
Yes, you can change your default router IP by logging into your router admin page. You can make such changes from your router control panel.
Should I change the router IP address?
For better security reasons, you can change the default router IP. Just make sure to remember it or better write it down; you will require it to access your router admin page. However, I won’t recommend doing it. You can secure your network using your router security page.
Does restarting router change IP?
No, and Yes, If ISP assigned you a dynamic IP address then you may get new IP from the pool when you restart the router, but that doesn’t happen often. Dynamic IP is automatically assigned from IP pools and It cannot be changed manually. There is no specific time frame for how long the same IP will be assigned to you.
However, there are chances that the same IP gets assigned to someone else when you switch off your router and you will get a new IP address from the pool when you switch ON the router. This depends on your ISP network configurations.
In the case of static IP address, you will keep the same IP address every time you restart/refresh the router.
I am getting an IP conflict message on Windows?
IP conflict errors happen when the same IP is assigned to 2 people on the same network. When one person connects the internet the other people get auto disconnected as 2 computers on the same network cant be on the Internet with the same IP.
To fix this issue call your ISP and inform them so they can fix it and assign you a new IP address.
